1/25/2010 -- Maui, Hawaii.
FINALLY! We did it. We rode to La Perouse Bay. It isn't too far away. 13.8 miles to be exact.. not quite 28 miles round trip.
The ride was originally planned for Sunday but we never got too far. Jogging 5-miles before the ride took the wind out of our sails.
*** Ride in red.
If nothing else, my hair is glad we made it. Saturday evening I forgo washing it. Why if it was going to be super nasty in 15-hours? Sunday was a repeat. By the time we headed out Monday, I didn't need the straps on my bike helmet to hold it in place. |

I simply love the sight of this little bay. The fact that I have never actually gotten in it still surprises me. A park ranger once told me dolphins love to come rest here in the early morning hours. You would think I would return with snorkel gear. NOPE!
Like I said, we had planned on Sunday to take this ride. I knew this Saturday night and ate a lot of calories fully expecting to burn them off Sunday. Oh well. Sunday, I ate a lot thinking we were going to ride here in the afteroon. |

Well, we finally made it and I rewarded myself Monday with a delicious fried, curry chicken dish from L & L Drive Thru. I am not confident my one bike ride balances out 3-days of enormous food consumption, but I am too relax and stuffed to care. |

1/24/2010 -- Maui, Hi
What a fun, fun weekend. It started off with a date at Pioneer Inn. We had amazingly good food for an amazingly good deal. I grabbed their house salad and it was fresh and delicious. John went with the BBQ chicken wings.
The hostess briefly sat near us, and we discussed the pluses and minuses of waitressing. The minus being people can be a freaking pain in the ass. My 2 cents. She replied, "But if they tip well it is worth it." She walked away, I thought about it and decided being a pain in the arse and tipping well normally don't go hand in hand. |

Saturday, while hitting yard sales, I managed to pick up several avocados.... fresh, local avocados for a song or simply $2. |

One of my goals today was to find a full body SPF rash guard. I can say now, I did not succeed this weekend. Last year I picked up one at a yard sale and I am convinced, on Maui, I can do it again.
After hitting the yard sales, we headed to the local Swap Meet. I saw wonderful deals on fresh fruit, vegetables and delicious Chow Fun, but no rash guard.
I even hit the Salvation Army and deliberated on a wetsuit. I think I might get hot in it though. Still pondering. Anyway, waiting in line to purchase a shirt, I listened to the tall, thin, animated customer in front of me working it. With his hands flying above his head, he went into great detail on how a $20 cassette player sold in the store did not work. Making his case, he explained to the cashier he took his batteries out of his cassette player, input them in the store's cassette player and it didn't play. It didn't matter though because he only wanted the cassette carrying case. It was very well padded. Since the cassette player didn't work, it shouldn't be sold and what is the price on just the case. I was shocked but they said $1.50, which made him very happy, and away he went. |

What a freaking way to spend a Saturday night. A rooftop birthday party. |

A rooftop birthday party at sunset. GORGEOUS! |

Besides the wonderful food, we had 4 cakes from which to choose. |

Cheese!
And guess what. It is still Sunday morning. I have a bike ride planned in 30-minutes. I will be back. |
