||4/19 -- We have been back on the Mainland
for a couple of weeks or so and my weight jumped up 5 lbs
from day one. I ate over the Pacific Ocean, California,
Georgia, all the way until we landed in Virginia. Catching
up with friends and family over dinner and margaritas
hasn't helped the situation either. The final nail in the
coffin have been my knees. Kiteboarding reeked havoc on
them. 2 hours 3 to 5 times a week bouncing over choppy
water took its' toll. Until, I realized bike riding made
them feel better. Woo Hoo!
||Every year it goes like this. November... no
bike riding, December...repeat, Jan. Feb dido, up until
March or April. We got out for a couple of trial rides,
normally two, John then looks at me and says, lets do the
downtown loop next time. I love to exercise, I always
agree, I ride the 20-mile loop with him and hobble around
the house for two days. With my weight climbing into the stratosphere,
I was happy to hear those words this time.
Part of the ride entails Belle Isle. John is crossing
the Southside Bridge entrance in the left photo.
||Apparently, the 54-acre island is famous due
to a Civil War POW camp. In my mind, it is famous because
Nicole Kidman and Jude Law shot part of their scenes for
"Cold Mountain" here.
||We heard a new trail was created during our
time in Maui. We needed to check it out, check it out,
check it out.
||Cute! It takes you past a very open spot on
||Viola! Downtown Richmond Virginia.
