10/31/2008 -- Halloween in Lahaina
on the beautiful island of Maui. As we work on
East Coast hours, we decided to go up early to
witness the festivities and discovered a very
family friendly affair. I have heard the later the
hour, the wilder it gets. |
|

A parade of trick or treaters walk
along Front Street showing their wonderful
costumes. Some bystanders even brought along
treats. I have made a mental note to myself to
remember to bring bags of candy next year. |

I was going to ask if she was a good
witch or a bad witch but fear paralyzed my throat. |
|
|

Broccoli waits for guests to enter
the restaurant where they can watch the parade
from the second-story balcony. |

Such a pretty fairy, wearing what
are surely magic fairy wings. |
|

You can see the revelers high above
watching the costumes parade past. |

A family that bathes together plays
together appears to be the theme as the group
walks down Front Street where it intersects with
Hotel Street. The Lahaina Harbor is in the
background. What a wonderful stage for
Halloween. |
