Twice we have left from Maalaea Bay's harbor and
the boat or yacht headed southwest hugging Maui's shoreline
so closely, we could frequently see Route 30.
On the first occasion, the sunset
cruise was too
early in the year for whales. As you can see, we hit gold on our
second outing.
I first became aware of their presence
when I heard a loud, swishing sound within 100 feet of the yacht. We believe this was a mother and calf.
We stopped the boat, earlier in our voyage, when we spotted dolphins, so imagine our
pleasure when we realized we had dolphins and whales to behold in a
single outing. .
They appeared to say hi.
And with a flick of their tales, they hit the
road.
Our captain.
Some cruises provide food and drinks.
I enjoyed this vessel since it offered shade. If you take a voyage
during the daytime, I recommend asking if they have a roof to sit
under before booking the trip.
