| A few weeks ago, on our way back to Kihei from
kiteboarding, we pulled into the entrance off of Highway 311 but they were
about to close, so we decided to postpone a tour. Yesterday, I was in the
neighborhood... a whole 2 miles from the condo. I took these images from
Route 310. Kealia Pond NWR is a huge wetland, 691 acres to be exact. |
 |
| The early morning sunshine
really brightens the yellow field. |
 |
| Yellow is my favorite
color. Cheerful! |
 |
| You can the Kealia Coastal
Boardwalk from North Kihei Road. |
 |
| It is a smooth, wide
walkway and gives ample opportunity to see the birds in the
wetlands. I would wear a hat though. There is minimal shade here. |
 |
| Here is an Ae'o. It is an
endangered subspecies of the black-necked stilt. |
