Located in East Maui, near mile marker 42, the Ohe'o Gulch Seven Sacred
Pools, along with the Pipiwai Trail, was the highlight of the trip. |
 |
I love hiking through forests and I love to take
pictures, so imagine my delight to hike a shady trail rimmed
with waterfalls, while snapping photos. |
 |
When we saw the
sign for the Pipiwai Trail right past the Ohe'O Gulch Seven
Sacred Pools, we were all over it. |
 |
Imagine my surprise, when I wobbled across a
small, slippery stream, ducked under a branch and looked up. I
was enthralled. |
 |
The trail ends ends at the Waimoku Falls. If you
are wondering what is under the waterfall, the answer is my
husband; John. |
 |
While I am a chicken, my husband waded out to the
waterfall and took a "shower." I knew he liked it when he said
"this place talks to my soul". |
 |
To get here, you walk along a very defined trail,
but do cross some wet areas with slippery rocks. Just be
careful. It is four-miles round trip. |
 |
On our way back, we plunged into some of the brisk
pools. |
 |
I think I jumped in once. At this point, I was
spoiled by the warm Pacific water. |
 |
Goodbye beautiful falls. |
