wai_anapananapa2017.jpg (2233303 bytes) In February,  we spent the night in Hana, instead of turning it into a day trip, as in previous years.. I have some words of advise from this experience. Always ask before booking the great deal you found, if it is quiet there. Questions such as do your neighbors own roosters, dogs, puppies? Do they consider them pig hunting (working) dogs and keep them outside all night.? I can honestly say, I have never heard such a ruckus the entire night. The next morning, all the animals were quiet which makes sense. They were exhausted. The odd thing, I was so pooped from hiking all day, I fell asleep within 2 hours which is great since I am used to a loud A/C unit. Every blue moon, I would be aware of a cock o'doodle doo or puppy whine and then back to dreamland.

After parking, I ate a sandwich while overlooking the park's black sand beach. There were a fair number of people on this beautiful beach.
